The IHDC 2011 finished with a conference at the Museum of London, with key speakers from the fields of built environment design, ecology, property insurance, planning and investment. The day included a walking tour of three biodiverse green roofs in the City: 201 Bishopsgate, Eversheds HQ and the Museum of London's own 4,200 sq. m. of green roofs being installed over the next 2 years.
The Chair was Jim McClelland, with speakers Gary Grant, independent ecologist and masterplanner and Chair of IHDC judges, Dave Farebrother from Land Securities, Chris Knight from pwc, Andrew Jones Programme Leader of the Urban Greening Team at the GLA, Brian McDonald from Natural England, Dusty Gedge, President of the European Federation of Green Roof Associations, Simon Mills, Head of Sustainable Development at the Corporation of the City of London, Sarah Cary, Sustainable Developments Executive at British Land and Dr Bob Bloomfield Head of Special Projects at the Natural History Museum.
A evening reception and Awards Ceremony was held in the Museum of London's prestigious Sackler Hall to announce and celebrate the finalists and winners of the IHDC 2011.
